Camille and Kelsey Grammar
The Real Housewives loves to show the lives of some of the rich and glamorous housewives around America. While they seem to have a wardrobe filled with designer clothes and a bag collection we can only look at in awe, some of them faced real troubles of their own when they experienced the “Real Housewives curse,” and went through a divorce while on the show. After news broke out that Camille and Kelsey Grammer were divorcing in 2010 after 13 years of marriage, Camille walked away with an impressive $30 million.
Joanna Krupa and Romain Zago
Their rocky romance was seen during two seasons of The Real Housewives of Miami, and Joanna Krupa and Romain Zago’s eventual split came in May 2017, less than four years after they tied the knot. With a post-nuptial agreement, the pair divorced amicably, saying they grew apart but remain good friends. Krupa then confirmed her engagement with her new beau, Douglas Nunes, just nine months after her divorce from her ex-husband was finalized, and the pair got married in August 2018.
Alexis and Jim Bellino
Alexis Bellino and her husband Jim have settled their divorce in recent months with The Real Housewives of Orange County star being paid over $16,000 a month in support from her former husband. Alexis and Jim will share joint and physical custody of their three children, but Jim will pay $6,000 a month in child support, and $10,000 a month in spousal support. Meanwhile, Jim will keep their two multi-million dollar homes, and Alexis will keep her own, as well as another lump sum of $25,000.
Mary and Rich Amons
When Mary and Rich Amons confirmed their split in 2012, they became the fourth couple to part ways from The Real Housewives of D.C. The pair confirmed that they had grown apart after 26 years together, which was also two years after RHODC aired season one. The couple had welcomed five children together, and Mary issued a statement upon their news stating, “My primary focus is an amicable process, ensuring the well-being of my five wonderful children and their happiness, which has been, and will always be, of paramount importance.”
Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy
Bethenny Frankel and her relationship with Jason Hoppy was broadcasted for all to see. Frankel introduced her new lover to season three of The Real Housewives of New Jersey and, once she found out she was pregnant and the two became engaged, they were given their own spin-off series, Bethenny Getting Married? The show was later titled, Bethenny Ever After, and went on for three seasons from 2010 to 2012. However, the couple split that same year, with their divorce being finalized in 2016, but have continued their custody battle over daughter, Brynn.
Shannon and David Beador
For four seasons of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Shannan Beador’s relationship with her husband David proved to be a tumultuous one. Fans were given a glimpse into Shannon’s married life and the news that her husband had an affair. Moreover, they watched as the pair subsequently renewed their wedding vows, only to then announce their split in 2017 during the season 12 reunion. The couple decided to part ways after 17 years of marriage, and are currently in the midst of their divorce proceedings.
Kelly and Michael Dodd
Kelly and Michael Dodd filed for divorce in 2012 before reconciling and staying together. Then, after her first two seasons of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Kelly and her husband called it quits for the second time in September 2017. “Our marriage is over, I’m out of there! We’ve had problems for years and I’ve had enough,” she told Daily Mail at the time. The pair were married for 11 years and share a daughter named Jolie. Their divorce was finalized in February 2018.
Tamra Judge and Simon Barney
There is no forgetting the infamous limo ride between Tamra and her husband at the time, Simon, while they were on their way to a party during season five of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Tamra can be remembered for telling Simon that she wants a divorce and that he is a “nasty, vile person,” followed by some more expletives. In January 2010, Simon filed for divorce, accusing Tamra of “being verbally abusive and has committed acts of disloyalty and adultery,” and it was finalized in 2011.
Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida
They pretty much spent their whole married life filming for The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but after four seasons on the show, and nearly five years of marriage, Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida called it quits. The couple, who shares two sons, finalized their divorce in September 2017, with Phaedra calling the whole process “very frustrating, it’s very expensive, it’s very emotionally draining and quite time-consuming.” Meanwhile, Nida is currently serving an eight-year prison sentence after he pled guilty to fraud in 2014.
Adrienne and Paul Maloof
Adrienne and Paul Maloof caused quite a stir during their time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills before announcing their divorce in 2012. The very wealthy pair called it quits after ten years of marriage and at the end of season three of the reality series, with Paul filing for separation from Adrienne in July 2012. Their divorce was finalized in November and, despite accusing one another of both physical and verbal abuse, the pair had agreed to leave with the money they both came into the marriage with.
Yolanda Hadid and David Foster
One of the more shocking divorces to come from the show was when Yolanda and David Foster announced their divorce. To viewers, they were the perfect couple – she is a former model, and he is a multi-award winning music producer. However, after nine years together, and Yolanda’s battle with Lyme disease, the two revealed in 2015 that their marriage was over. Their divorce was finalized on October 2017, making this Yolanda’s second divorce and David’s fourth. Meanwhile, a year later, David announced his engagement to Katherine McPhee.
Carlton and David Gebbia
She only appeared on one season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but Carlton Gebbia is one to remember thanks to her Wiccan faith and gothic style mansion. However, that mansion went on the market for $22 million after Carlton and her husband of nearly 18 years announced that they were divorcing three years after their time on the show. David Gebbia announced their separation in August 2016, as they were nearing their 18th wedding anniversary, and filed for divorce in November that year. Their divorce was finalized in September 2018.
Vicki and Donn Gunvalson
It was during season five of The Real Housewives of Orange County that fans of the show watched Vicki and Donn Gunvalson renew their vows. But, less than a year later, they announced their divorce. After 17 years of marriage, Vicki filed for divorce in October 2012, with Donn claiming he was “completely taken aback” by his wife’s filing. The reality star was awarded nearly $1 million in assets as part of their divorce settlement but blamed the hit Bravo show as the cause of the breakdown of her marriage.
Jeana and Matt Keough
Jeana and Matt Keough appeared on The Real Housewives of Orange County for three seasons before announcing their split in 2007. Their eventual divorce may have come as a shock to some, considering the couple had been together for 23 years and shared three children together, but things went from bad to worse for Matt. It was reported that the former husband of the reality housewife was sentenced to a year in jail three years after in 2010, after he pleaded guilty for his second DUI.
Porsha Williams and Kordell Stewart
It was just two years of marriage before Porsha Williams and Kordell Stewart separated, and Williams claims she was completely “blindsided” by the divorce filings made by her husband in 2013. In fact, the reality star claims she discovered that her husband filed for divorce on social media and, once the divorce was finalized, Portia got nearly nothing in the settlement. Stewart had appeared on The Real Housewives of Atlanta with his wife during season five and told Steve Harvey in 2016 that he had “no regrets” about his appearance.
Charrisse and Eddie Jordan
Charisse Jordan and her husband Eddie from The Real Housewives of Potomac, filed for divorce during season two of the show in 2017. In an interview with The Daily Dish, Charisse admitted that her former husband predicted the show would damage their marriage. When I told [Eddie], I said, ‘They want me to do this reality show’ — at the time we didn’t know it was Housewives, we were thinking maybe it could be Housewives — and so he said, ‘Well, if you do it, we’ll probably get a divorce.”
Ramona and Mario Singer
Ramona and Mario Singer caused shockwaves when they announced their divorce in 2014 after more than 20 years of marriage. The couple, who share one daughter named Avery, called it quits after six seasons of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, making them one of the most shocking divorces in the show’s history. While Ramona tried to reconcile with her husband after initially filing for divorce in January 2014, she soon discovered that her husband had reconnected with his mistress in August that year and proceeded with the paperwork.
Lynne and Frank Curtin
Another long-term marriage that failed to survive the “Housewives curse,” was Lynne and Frank Curtin. The couple appeared on seasons four and five of The Real Housewives of Orange County before Lynne filed for divorce in 2012 after 22 years of marriage. In 2017, the reality starlet gushed to Bravo about her “new love,” but in 2018 it seemed her divorce case was dismissed. Radar Online reported this update, which happened as a result of Frank never appearing in court or responding to his wife’s divorce filing.
Danielle Staub and Marty Caffrey
It seems that third time’s a charm was not the case for Danielle Staub after marrying Marty Caffrey in May 2018 and filing for divorce in September that year. Bravo captured the couple’s nuptials for season nine of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but their split was announced just a month after news broke that the two had both filed temporary restraining orders against each other. This was Staub’s third divorce, with US Weekly exclusively revealing that Staub had served the divorce papers just four months into her marriage.
Luann and Count Alex de Lesseps
It was 16 years of marriage but just two seasons of The Real Housewives of New York before Luann and Count Alex de Lesseps’ marriage came crashing down in 2009. While multiple Housewives had continued to claim during the series’ run that Luann and Alex had an open marriage, the former countess has denied such a thing. Moreover, nine years later, the former couple made headlines again when it was announced in July 2018 that Alex and their two children sued Luann over a breach in the pair’s divorce deal.
Cythnia Bailey and Peter Thomas
Fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta watched as Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas became engaged during season three of the show, and went on to marry in 2010. However, the couple called it quits after six years in the summer of 2016, with their divorce being finalized soon after in 2017. Meanwhile, the former model continued to film for the series and document her life for all to see, and was not put off by also documenting her rocky return to dating.
Dina and Tommy Manzo
Dina’s first stint on The Real Housewives of New Jersey seemed to have a significant effect on the reality starlet’s life since she separated from her husband of five years in October 2012. Dina and Tommy Manzo finalized their divorce four years later in 2016, but it seems Dina has not given up on love as a result and is trying her luck at marriage once again. In August 2018, Dina confirmed her engagement to her boyfriend of three years, David Cantin.
Jules and Michael Wainstein
It was after just one season of her participation on The Real Housewives of New York that Jules announced her decision to split with her husband of eight years, Michael. The couple, who shares two children, split in 2016, but their divorce turned ugly in August that year after an alleged altercation. Despite a rep for Jules neither confirming nor denying the reports at the time, as of August 2018, the couple has continued to fight over child support in court.
