Sophie's Wedding Tiara Was Very Unique

The tiara, worn by Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, was incredibly unique. It was commissioned by the Queen herself and was generally believed to be made up of pieces from Queen Victoria's Regal Circlet. However, this was never confirmed by the Palace but was confirmed to be from the Queen's private tiara collection.

It's Composed Of Four Elements

Jeweler Eddie Le Vian explained that if you look closely at the tiara, then you can see four anthemion elements. This means that she had a specific floral design that twists delicately on to the gold-framed tiara. However, this further encouraged the belief that it was made from the Regal Circlet.

It Was Interchangeable

According to Le Vian, the Royal Circlet was made up of detachable parts, made up of the Maltese cross, fleur-de-lis and other similar elements that could be changed around or swapped. This was an incredibly unique honor, considering the female being married in would usually wear a tiara from their family; as Princess Diana did.

The Tiara Had Never Been Seen Before

This Tiara had never been seen by the public before, making it truly unique. Sophie wore the original design alongside new jewelry presented to her by Edward, who was soon-to-be her husband. The necklace gifted to her was a necklace made from pearls, with a dainty cross to finish it. It wasn't the last time that Sophie was seen wearing the tiara.

The countess has worn the tiara on numerous occasions, and it has been estimated to be worth around $1.5 million.
