Couldn’t Believe It
The specific vegan food request made its way into the public eye when the bride in question decided to post the invite on social media. However, she didn’t just post about her epic calligraphy or the color of the invite. This photo instead focused on the reply from one particular couple. While one member of the couple was fine with whatever food they had on offer during the reception, the other was a bit more demanding in terms of what they wanted.
Vegan Meal Request
On the back of the RSVP, the picky wedding guest had written a vegan meal request. Rather than asking for anything that was suitable for a vegan diet, she got pretty specific about what she wanted to eat. This involved a large salad bowl full of mixed greens, complete with cucumbers, red onion, and some sliced grape tomatoes. However, she wasn’t over. She also asked for lots of olive oil on the side, plus some lemon juice if possible.
A Bit Tacky
In fact, the bride posted the photo on a Facebook group called “That’s it, I’m wedding shaming.” She was astounded by the audacity of her guest, and even went so far as to call her request extremely “tacky.” Yet, the bride wasn’t the only one taken aback by the demands. Over 1,500 people commented on the post over the course of one week, and a large majority of them agreed that the guest was making unfair demands. Although many couples do cater to guests that have dietary requirements, they believe that asking for a specific meal is going too far.
Did this wedding guest ask for too much?
